Supervisor Testimonials
Below are two letters of recommendation, from my two mentor teachers at Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, MD. I worked in the band, orchestra, and percussion ensemble programs at McNamara, and got to experience every level of their incredible music programs, an inspiring sight to me as I look towards my goal of building my own similarly awesome music program.
Student Testimonials
Below are a series of testimonials from students I've had the privilege to work with throughout my time as an educator. It is with heartfelt gratitude that I occasionally get to hear that I made a difference for someone - I love what I do and I am so honored to hear when I have an impact.
Throughout all of my years of musical theater and chorus I have never had a music director like Mr. Sean. I am excited to go to music everyday not only to sing but to learn something new. I can confidently say that my knowledge of my own voice as well as my knowledge of composition and sound has greatly increased since working with Mr. Sean. Every student is engaged during the lesson and the environment is stimulating yet comfortable so no one is afraid to ask questions or try something new. Not only is Mr. Sean an incredible teacher but also a person who I trust and respect completely. His hard work shines throughout every project and song that he teaches and it empowers the students to work hard as well. I carry every lesson Mr. Sean has taught me through my musical career as well as real life. I have never felt as supported throughout a learning process or as a person than on music days. I hope that every student in music has the opportunity to have a teacher like Mr. Sean because the experience has truly changed me for the better.

"I am a student of Sean’s and I can honestly say he’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He teaches music in a creative way that helps us actually understand what we’re doing, not just memorize it. He’s funny, kind, and makes even long rehearsals fun and engaging. He gives us vocal tips that really help us sound better, and he pushes us to be the best choir we can be. Sean also really listens to us and understands what it’s like to be a high schooler. He’s someone we can talk to about music and about life, and he always gives great advice. You can tell he really cares, and that makes his rehearsals a place we all want to be. He works so hard and it shows every single day."

"I met Sean this year during our production of Alice by Heart, and even though I’ve only known him for a short time, he’s already had a big impact on me. He’s a really really great music director! He takes the time to explain everything, even the music vocabulary, so we actually understand what we’re singing. He also comes up with super helpful ways to remember harmonies, which made learning the songs way easier. Before every show and run, he leads us in affirmations that help us feel more connected and ready to perform. It really hypes us up but also calms the nerves at the same time. We tried to carry it on with the younger kids in the company but it didn’t give the same experience without Sean- which just shows how much of an impact his presence has on us even during small moments. Even though he’s only been my music director for a couple of months, I know that everything he’s taught me is going to stick with me and help me in the future."

"I have only done two shows with Sean, but I can testify that my confidence has gone up greatly working with him. In the first show I worked on with him, I had a featured song in which I was terrified, but working with Sean was so helpful as I became more confident in my singing. I have learned so many new techniques and warm-ups that will stay with me thought my participation in shows. I can strongly say that Sean has helped me to become a stronger and better singer in the few months i have worked with him."
